Fairmont Scottsdale

With its distinctive southwestern ambiance and shimmering sophistication, the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess embodies the definition of a world-class resort. Situated on 65 acres overlooking the Sonoran Desert and the majestic McDowell Mountains, the AAA Five Diamond Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is in a class of its own within this predominately resort market.

Originally acquired by Strategic Hotels & Resorts in 2006, the Company recapitalized the property in 2011 through a 50/50 joint venture with Walton Street Capital. The resort features 649 richly appointed guest rooms, including two Presidential Suites, 69 Fairmont Gold Rooms and 119 Casitas. It boasts a wide-variety of luxury amenities, including two TPC golf courses, five swimming pools, seven tennis courts, multiple-award winning dining restaurants and a luxurious spa. The hotel is a premier destination for business and group travelers as well, with its various high-tech amenities, flexible meeting spaces, and marquee grand ballroom.

The Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is near completion of a five-year, $60 million capital improvement plan, which has already seen various enhancements such as new décor, the addition of fire and water features throughout the hotel, and new dining and nightlife options. The last phase of the plan involves the construction of a new $20 million convention center, which is currently underway and scheduled for completion in October 2012. When open, the new center will include 40,000 square feet of indoor meeting space, anchored by the new 23,000 square-foot Palomino Ballroom. When the new convention center is complete, the resort will have 156,000 square-feet of meeting space, making it the largest meetings resort in the Fairmont Hotels & Resorts portfolio.
